Scott is a British Army doctor with dual specialty training in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. He has academic expertise in AMR associated with areas of conflict and catastrophe, supporting both field research and policy development, and also on immune impacts of arduous exercise, working with the Royal Marines during his PhD studies. Prior to conducting research in polar areas Scott was a Great Britain national athlete and expedition leader, with a particular focus on supporting anti-poaching efforts in Africa.
